During one of the hottest weeks of the summer so far, we had the blessing of our our dear friends the Collomy family from Hiram, Maine over to our home for an overnight. They were on vacation for a week and wanted to come for a visit. We invited them to stay the night. They said that it's not often that a family of 13 gets invited overnight anywhere! It was great fun! There were 7 girls that stayed in our camper, and then there were 5 boys in tents in the back yard. My girls took great pleasure in making a "resort" style room out of the boys room in the house. They moved their air conditioner into the boys room and made a beautiful room for Darrell and Michelle to stay in with their baby Nathan, and their two littlest girls, Corey and Stevie. It definitely was the coolest spot in the house! We enjoyed 5 meals together and a wonderful picnic lunch at A. Frances' camp on Suncook Lake. She wasn't there which was too bad, but she has always told us..."I may not be there, but the water always is!"...well...it was about 10 degrees cooler there than our home 3 miles away. So we stayed for a long time! We came home for a lovely dinner and to celebrate Grace and Jon being in our family for 5 years, July 7th! My folks came down for the celebration! We enjoyed some harmonica playing by my Dad, and then we were delighted to discover than Michelle plays the trumpet!
1 Peter 4:9 says:
"Show hospitality to one another without grumbling."
This was soooo easy to do with our dear friends in the Lord! We love you!
