The value of a life...

This day, January 21st, 2016, our precious Rosalinda Marguerite Winslow turns 4. The photo on the left is when we first met her at the Elliot hospital in Manchester. She was 5 weeks old, and rejected.

You see, sweet Rosie was born drug addicted. Her mama, (who had already had 5 other children before), had NO pre-natal care and came into the hospital on the 21st of January, 2012, had Rosie, and left the next day. Abandoned her to return to her life on the streets. So Rosie was loved on and cared for by the nurses in the intensive care unit. She had 5 hard weeks of withdrawing from the drugs in her little body. How horrible it must have been for her. She did NOT choose this, it was chosen for her.  Child and family services had stepped in and thought it would be very easy to find a home for this little one. One by one they called their waiting list people, and one by one they were told, "No"...Why?? "because she was drug addicted and because she was part Hispanic"...2 strikes against her. You see, everyone was looking for the "perfect white baby", and they didn't see the value of this little life.

Well, God knew one month before Rosie's birth, we would step out in faith and visit an attorney and start a private adoption process. This attorney told us that she NEVER gets NH babies, but that we should pray for one anyway, and so we did. Do you see the storyline developing?

You can read about it here at:  Rosie's Story It's really such a blessing! There are also photos of Rosie's first birthday with us.

God knew He wanted Rosie to be with us. God valued her life GREATLY!!! We are so thankful to her mama that she actually gave birth to her, and didn't choose to end Rosie's life.

We are so thankful that God chose us to be her family!

There Once Was A Girl....Who Had a Little Curl...RIGHT in the Middle of Her Forehead...

"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him." Psalm 127:3

There was a little girl

By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was...

well...still our little Rosie and still loved by us! We thank you Lord this day for our precious Rosie...a gift right from you! Thank you!

This photo shoot totally describes a day in the life of Rosie...our VERY energetic and expressive littlest 2 year old blessing! We LOVE you Rosie!

Home Renovation Fun, Marlie's Birthday, Baby chicks arrive, and other random musings to get caught up!

It's sooo exciting! Our stairs are going to be finished! Hooray! We are also going to have hard wood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hall way! God is soooo good! **note: of course it truly does help to be married to one of the most gifted carpenters around! Thank you Glenn! We'll keep you posted on the progress!

Grace tries her hand at drilling!

So...when life gives you snow?? Make a snow baby! That's what Rosie did! Her name is Wendy! (with Elisha's help of course!)

On Saturday we celebrated our precious granddaughter Marlie's 3rd birthday! Wow..where does the time go??

Her Daddy made this wonderful banner at his work! Cool, huh?

Annie loved trying to feed Rosie her cake!

Marlie got a new bike for her birthday! What a big girl!

And..on Tuesday we got a VERY special delivery---27 chicks!! Never had them delivered through the mail before. Such a blessing!

Nothing like new life in the house to make it feel like Spring!

Rosie was soooo excited..she kept running around saying:  "Baby chicks are here! Baby chicks are here!"

They are doing really well! So..there you have it folks! I'm up to date on my photos and posting them on my blog! Enjoy!!

Thank you, too, for continuing to pray for our adoption! Our flights are booked and we are ready to go! 2 weeks from this Friday!

It was a VERY nice day!

It's so hard to believe that our littlest blessing from the Lord turned 2 today! Rosie had some very definite things she wanted for this day:
Donuts for breakfast
McDonald's for lunch
Spaghetti for supper and...
A bear cake for dessert with icecream!

You got it sweetie!

We'll even throw in a few surprises, too! kay??

So Madelyn surprised Rosie with her very own Veggie Tales pop up tent! Oh my goodness...that was the total HIT of the day! Even room for Daddy to come in and play! Wow!

Of course Nicole LOVED to play in the tent, too!  Sigh...Nicole..you are getting soooo big! I remember when Maddie wore those strawberry jammies! Wow!

So...a very "healthy" NOT...breakfast of fruit loops and chocolate covered donuts was served!

Hmmmmm....what should I do next, thought Rosie!????

Okay...let's open some presents! Yup!! Let's!

So for lunch we got to go to our local McDonald's and Glenn works 2 minutes from there so he joined us, and so did Brittany and Marlie, and Annie, too! Hey..Aunt Rosie..you and Marlie are both 2 for about a month!! Wow!

 Everyone had a great time!

Okay...so here is the bear cake! Yup...isn't it cute?? Rosie LOVED it!

No bath is complete without her new veggie tales water fun thingy! Yeah!!
Then it was time for cake and pin the tail on the donkey..which guess what??? Rosie won!! Yup!!

We love you so much Miss Rosalinda Marguerite Winslow! You are such a joy in our lives! Praying God's blessing on your up and coming year!
