One Day at a time.....

Good morning from Children’s hospital at Dartmouth. I’m here with Peppy. Yesterday she had her VERY large tonsils and adenoids out. As I mentioned, yesterday, July 20, was JoyAnna’s angelversary. It was sooooo hard to have Pep’s surgery on that same anniversary day, especially since I spent sooooooo much time here at CHAD with JoyAnna.

God tells me in His word:  “Mary, I know the plans I have for you, for Peppy, etc, plans to prosper you and NOT to hard you, plans to bring you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.

I truly clung to His word yesterday with all of my emotions flowing in a BIG way.

So here we are. Thursday, July 21, waiting to find out if we can go home today. God is soooooo good. I can NOT wait to get home to my family, my hubs, my kiddos, my garden.

I promise to keep you posted!!!

Well it sure has been while! July 2022 update.

Good morning to you! I'm sitting here on Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022. It's been a LONG while since I posted here on my blog. October 2020 to be exact. My blog is never far from my mind as when I log onto the internet, up it comes. In the last few days, I've been burdened to begin posting regularly on my blog again, and so here goes.

Today marks 3 years since our beloved JoyAnna went to heaven at age 12. It's very surreal. Truly. We had signed up to go to Joni and Friends family retreat and been accepted to attend that year, 2019. We were so very excited to go to a family retreat that celebrated and loved on families impacted by disability.

Imagine our shock when the Lord took JoyAnna home to be with Him one month before we were to attend. We were in mourning and broken and God for sure directed us to still go. So we did. What a blessing to us. We met a Mennonite foster Mom named Barbara and her precious foster daughter Ashlin. God clearly showed Barbara that we were to be Ashlin's adoptive family. We agreed, and we started the process to get to know them, and then to be relicensed as foster parents in order to do the inter-state adoption as Ashlin resided in Maine.

Isn't she beautiful? So over the last 2.5 years or so, we got to know Ashlin, spent time with her here at our home and at her home in Maine. She called us Mama Mary and Daddy Glenn.

She fit into our family perfectly. Loved by all. We sailed along in the process. God opened doors wide. We began our foster care licensing process. Which is NOT for the faint of heart for sure!

God has been sooooooo good to us! What does the future hold for our family? What is God's plan, we don't know, but we continue to press on in this work He has given us, shining for Him as we go!

This week our daughter Nicole is at Submarine school for Sea Cadets! She is sooooooo excited for it!

And so now, as I write this, I am preparing to take Peppy up to Children's hospital in Lebanon, NH, to have her tonsils and adenoids out. She will recover in the PICU due to her severe sleep apnea as well as her low muscle tone from her Down's Syndrome.

I must say that it's a bit bitter sweet to be taking her on the anniversary of JoyAnna's angelversary, but that is how God worked it out.

Sure do covet your prayers! I promise, I will be in touch again soon!
