Yesterday afternoon we had the most wonderful blessing. Jen and Russ Stratton opened up their barn and pastures to the Hearts for Home home school group and we met their to celebrate back to school and lots of the kids and moms wore prairie clothing. The sun was shining, and was a beautiful day!
The barn was awesome! Everyone brought something for the giant trail mix that we shared as a snack!
There were tons of bonnets, straw hats, and even a mandolin!
The little girls just LOVED the country grocery store to play with!
The fellowship with the Moms was just what we all needed at the end of the week!
There were apples on a string!
A view of their beautiful home!
There were many blanket games....buttons on a string, drop the clothespin in the jar, and many more!
We welcome our friends from the west! The Lowman family!
Some of the girls enjoyed some square dancing in the barn!
There was even a couple of Dads there! Hey Dave...where is your prairie outfit?
Mr. Stratton even gave his version of "hay" rides....Hmmm...not very old fashioned, but the kids LOVED it!
Mrs. Surtees teaches how to make yarn dolls and some button crafts!
The boys gather together in the barn for a meeting about how to deal with the Indians they saw!
Grace practices her penmanship!
Lots of fun field games!
Look at these little sweeties!
The boys!
Jon and Brandon...best prairie buds!
Maddie and Ellie enter the 3 legged race!
Elizabeth and Grace enter the race together!
Here are some of the other teams for the 3-legged race!
Here is the whole crew!
And the winners are???? Madelyn and Ellie! Yeah! Great job! They were in great sync with each other! It's NOT easy!
Apples on a string fun!
So a wonderful afternoon was had by all! Great fellowship and loads of old fashioned fun!!! Thank you all for such a super time!

Love the pics! I click on the first one so I can see them all enlarged. The last one with the apples was a great finale. Looks like a great time was had by all!
You got great pics! I can't believe I missed so many things! Square dancing? I didn't even know they were doing that! I was lost with a long line of customers making those yarn dolls. :) Such a fun day. I sure hope we can do it again. :)
