VERY HARD. And yet the Lord has encouraged us in His word, and for that we are grateful. This week, this verse has been my focus:
Matthew 11:29:
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
This has been a HUGE comfort for me. Yes Lord, I will be happy to give this waiting and hardship over to you! Yes, Lord! Thank you sooooo much for that reminder! I am so grateful that you love me this much, that you have given me this offer for me to take your yoke, which will give me rest. Thank you!
Another HUGE comfort for me has been the encouragement of those who have gone on before us. Please take a look at an update from a dear, dear, adoptive family in the Lord who have now brought 2 precious blessings home from Bulgaria. View the Blessings of Verity update HERE
Be sure to take note of the before and now pictures of precious Katie! Wow...2 whole years have gone by!
So here is an update on what has been happening. Last week we received a letter from Homeland Security! I excitedly thought it was our I-800A approval, and when I opened it, I found out otherwise. It was a request for proof that I didn't send with our application. So...we sent that proof priority mail on Friday and they would receive it this past Monday. And so we wait for that and pray for approval.
In the meantime, our placing agency emailed us to see how we were coming on our dossier preparation. (Note: the dossier is the humungous pile of paperwork that needs to be compiled and sent to our agency and then on to Bulgaria before we can take our first trip). You see, it has been more than 6 months since our referral of the children, and so they wanted to know where we were at. Well...one of the documents that we need to send in the dossier is our statements about our physicals and those can't be more than 6 months old. So...we had to make another physical appointment for Glenn and I. That is one week from tomorrow. So...it's our goal that we can have all of our other dossier paperwork ready to go by the end of the month. Then once we get our I-800A approval from Homeland Security, we can have everything translated and sent to Bulgaria and they will give us our first trip date!
Praises:
*We heard tonight that the Rescued grant fund has given us $1,200.00 toward our adoption! Thank you Lord! That should be credited to our Reece's Rainbow account in the coming weeks! This is such a blessing! Thank you Lord!
*All of the other money that has come in toward our adoption. This has been amazing!!
*God's faithfulness through this entire process!
Prayer Requests:
*That our placing agency in Iowa would accept the post placement form that our home study agency in NH uses regularly. If they don't then we'll have to pay for all of our post placement visits (4 of them) up front before they'll notarize the form! Thanking God that He knows all of the details and that He has a plan! A perfect plan!
*That God would provide the funds necessary for all of the steps coming up. Right now we still need to raise around 11,000.00 or a bit more to be fully funded! We know that God knows all of that, too!
*That Zoey would stay strong and God would keep her until we can come.
*For God's will and His perfect timing for our entire adoption process.
*For all of the preparations here in our home to get ready for the kids to come.
Thank you all for praying! I promise to keep you updated!

It's good to have a list of specifics to pray for. Praying for your courage and strength in the waiting as well.
