Jesus watched the people,
with their offerings.
Some were blessed with riches,
they had so much to bring.
But then He saw the woman,
and He knew she was poor.
What she brought was NOT a lot,
but she could NOT have given more!
Just 2 small coins,
she gave them up.
Still she gave more than all the rest.
Just 2 small coins,
they weren't much.
They were more than the rich man's best.
Jesus wants His children,
to bring Him offerings.
Giving with a pure heart,
He wants our everything.
Nothing is unworthy,
when given out of love.
To give our ALL,
may seem small,
but that is ALL he asked of us.
Just 2 small coins,
she gave them up.
Still she gave more than ALL the rest.
Just 2 small coins,
they weren't much.
They were more than the rich man's best.
The above is a treasured song that is on our new Wissman Family cd. The cd is named: Step by Step.
We just LOVE the message of this beautiful song. Yesterday we were given 2 such gifts.
1. So...last night at our Bright Light's meeting, ( discipleship group for young girls ages 8-13ish) we were given such an offering. It was absolutely incredible. A young 10 year old member of our group Miss Ellie Grace gave us an envelope entitled, Mr. and Mrs. Winslow.
This is what the hand written letter says:
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Winslow,
I have enclosed $5.00 for the adoption of Eddie and Zoey.
I, too, believe in giving homeless, parentless, children a new and better home.
I intend to have a home for about 20 girls, God willing.
Thank you for being such examples, and bright lights!
Your sister in Christ,
Ellie Grace."
Oh dear reader, tears ran down my face last night as I opened and read this beautifully penned letter. I'm still teary eyed today as I write this to you. You see, it's been almost a full year since we stepped out in faith to adopt Eddie and Zoey. We've received MANY donations during that some. Many have been quite large. Some $2,000.00, some $1,000.00 and those have been very wonderful. BUT...there is something about this precious gift from our 10 year old friend that just rings out generosity, and kindness.
Then when my husband and I went to go to bed, we found an envelope on our pillow. It said: "Dad and Mom", We opened it and found this:
Oh my...what a day of precious gifts! Thank you both sooooo much! To God be the Glory!
