Good morning to you ALL!! Some Saturday ramblings...

Good morning. It's Saturday, October 17th. It's been 2 full plus years since I posted on my blog. Every time I turn on my laptop and go to my search engine, my home page is my blog. And I think...hmmm...I should really update it, but then life goes on in the given day, and my days are super full and fast paced right  now, and I don't get to it.
Well today, this morning, as I sat to type a proposal for my hubby, I thought, I'm going to record my thoughts on my blog. I thought...hmmm......maybe I'll write a bit each day or every few days. Yesterday we celebrated Meira's 12th birthday. The photo on the left is when she first came to us 3 years ago.
Yesterday we also picked up Rosie's new glasses! Oh how we love this precious, energetic little gal.

This fall has been so different. These times we are living in are very challenging and very hard. The Corona virus has effected us all. In March of this year, a few weeks after the virus was hitting hard, Glenn fell off the metal roof. It was actually Jon's 17th birthday. I will NEVER forget when I got that call from Jon to come quickly.

You see, a LOT has happened here at Grace Abounding Farm since I last posted. Probably one of the biggest, hardest things was when God decided to bring our precious JoyAnna home. It was a bittersweet day, because we had just gone to Massachusetts to meet our new twin grandson's Leon and Josiah. We came home to find JoyAnna gone in her bed. It was completely devastating, BUT, you know what?? God is soooooo good and His timing is PERFECT!!! He knows....and her memorial service was absolutely incredible!! The church was packed, the gospel was clearly presented and our little missionary made an HUGE impact!! There is NOT a day that goes by where I don't think of her and miss her. I can't believe it's already been a full year and a half.

So...when I got the call about Glenn, I freaked out a bit and on my way to the job site I screamed, and yelled at God. I couldn't believe I was in this position. In His goodness to me, God met me there on the way, and reminded me that He knows the plans He has for Glenn.

And so....Glenn was ok. A broken right wrist and a bunch of stitches and a serious concussion, but VERY alive! And so God gave us 3 months together at home from March to June while Glenn recovered. Edward and Elisha also got furloughed from their work during this time, too. We were able to spend some WONDERFUL family time together. I cherished this time.

Glenn went back to work in June. We've taken a couple of camping trips this year. One at my Dad's home and one at Maddie's home. Both were WONDERFUL, and a reminder of how much we LOVE camping!

A few months ago, I got a copy of this book:  How Not to Die by: Michael Greger and the cookbook. It's plant based eating. Our daughter Brittany and her family had already started to try and eat plant based, and this was intriguing to me. Slowly over these months we have changed our eating to include mostly plant based eating. It's been wonderful. A true gift from God.

I have also spent time re-reading the book I got from the Parable Bible Bookstore long ago:  Overeating: Freedom from Food Fixation by June Hunt. It's a Christian Bible based book. It's small and very powerful. This has helped me, too.  I highly recommend this little book packed with truth from God's word.

You see, food is my drug of choice. This is the year I'm taking my health back and getting back in the best health that I can. I'm happy to share my journey with you all here!

Okay, it's time for me to get on with my morning. It's been nice "chatting" with you all!

Please keep in touch!

M
