Back To Eden Gardening! The Way It Should Be!!!

Have you heard of the Back To Eden Gardening video?? You should really watch it! You can watch it here: Back To Eden

After years of back-breaking toil in ground ravaged by the effects of man-made growing systems, Paul Gautschi has discovered a taste of what God intended for mankind in the garden of Eden. Some of the vital issues facing agriculture today include soil preparation, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, pest control, crop rotation, and PH issues. None of these issues exist in the unaltered state of nature or in Paul's gardens and orchards.
"Back to Eden" invites you to take a walk with Paul as he teaches you sustainable organic growing methods that are capable of being implemented in diverse climates around the world.

So....we decided that we wanted to implement it in our own garden! We are soooo excited! We watched the video at Grace's family's home. They have already implemented this system, too! Our first step was:  praying for wood chips! We can honestly say that we've never prayed for wood chips! Well...the Bible says:

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. "  Matthew 7:7

And....God is sooo good...He answered our prayers in an amazing way!

Check out some of our first garden produce of the season!

Name those veggies:  wax beans, lettuce, kale, cucumbers, zucchini, radishes, spinach, and blackberries and raspberries! Wow!

So...we decided to start the Back to Eden project with our asparagus bed which you can see here in the front of our garden. We have 75 crowns of asparagus planted there!

So...how did God answer our prayers for wood chips??? Well...it all started with Glenn noticing some wood chips in Alton (the next town beside us) next to the road. He called the town office and asked about them and they said that those belonged to the state, but then they told Glenn that at their town shed, they had a lot of wood chips available for anyone that wanted to come! "Wow! Thank you God!"

So...Glenn loaded up all of the kids, and attached his trailer to the big van, and packed 6 shovels and headed there and brought back this wonderful pile of wood chips! What a blessing! It took them about one hour to shovel them all in!
Well...we praised God for those wood chips and then Glenn decided to head back over and pick up another load there with the kids. When they got there it was a tad bit after 4:00, and they were closed for the day! Sigh....so...Glenn decided to head over and see if our town of Barnstead had wood chips, too.

When they got there, they saw that there were a lot of wood chips in our own town shed! Yeah! And....guess what?? The guy that was there said..."Hey Glenn...would you like me to load them up for you??"...."Wow!!!"...the kids all jumped for joy! Thank you Lord!! What an amazing blessing!

So...now we have 2 loads of wood chips and a full layer of newspaper, and then composted manure, and now wood chips on our asparagus bed! All in the matter of a week! Wow! It looks great, don't you think?? We'll undertake the Back to Eden plan on the rest of our garden this Fall when we get it ready for winter! Praising the Lord for His mighty provision!

And so we say to you all...

Matthew 6:25-34

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
